Some of the shells we've collected!
The tide was way out -- negative, even. So Jim hiked out to a little island. To get a perspective -- where I am standing is usually filled with ocean, even at low tide. And I'm using my zoom to get Jim in view.
The airport is just a few kms from the house ... all planes come over our housing area as they approach the runway ... a nuisance, for sure!
Orchids by our front door -- you can see my reflection in the window in one shot. Jim's washing off his most recent shell treasures!

Weird tide but nice finds! It'll be good to hear the planes when we come to visit - then you'll know we've arrived (just a 'glass-is-half-full' for that nuisance! :)
Ahhhhhh, I like that perspective on the planes! 'can't wait! And it'll sound like home for you -- with even more air traffic than the AF Base!
Do you think the way low tide had anything to do with earthquakes in that part of the world? Just curious about that.
Linda, that's a great thought. I check the local tide chart online almost every morning and I hadn't noticed any negative tides before or since. We'll have to see the pattern. Though we are not in the ring of fire on the island of Borneo, one would think that because we share the same water our tides would be effected. Locals, here, have never seen any tsunamis, though. The currents miss this area, I guess. I'll try to find out more. You got me thinkin'!
