What extraordinary architecture! I am very interested to see that the British influences remain evident, but the Thai architecture is remarkably intricate. Every civilization creates beauty in unique ways. Tell me Geri isn't actually reading that newspaper? But then, why not? Just look at the brains of her fam! What is her job there? Beautiful flowers. Were some of those tree-trunk-looking things bamboo?
The details in the architecture is astounding with little mosaic tiles and all. The Thais truly appreciate beauty and even the simplest of homes seem to have lovely orchids hanging from their roof lines. Yep, Jeri's ready that newspaper ... she's very fluent in Thai and now she's learning Issan, the language of her inlaws (which is unwritten). She teaches English writing and is a fabulously creative teacher. Her students are her ministry at this point and she's building some great relationships. When Boy gets out of the airforce, they'll officially become missionaries but they want to do tentmaking-style outreach because the culture is very relational and the best way to reach the people is through working with and living alongside them. I do so love flowers!!!!! No bamboo there, I'll get some photos of bamboo growing here and post them. It grows from birth to harvest time in around three months! Amazing!
